27th - 31st May 2016 An Exhibition of contemporary figure painting and sculpture by Alan Lennon.
Continually fascinated and inspired by the human form and relationships - people connecting or not connecting. These quiet figures occupy barren landscapes, still monuments that focus on unspoken communication. The paintings and sculptures often portray the juxtaposition of a strong exterior presence but unmasking the soft vulnerability that lies beneath. The figures are never portraits but are creations suggested by the marks and given life; a spark of something that the viewer can connect with.
Many of these new works in oils, stone and clay, draw upon feelings of isolation and alienation and are calm and contemplative.
